Cudillero, capital of the council with the same name, is a village that lives and has lived from the sea through the times, from those old original settlers of the north of Europe to the present “pixuetos”.
Cudillero attracts and surprises the visitor because its structure seems impossible. Their houses “are hung to the sea” in a small amphitheatre of staggered constructions, narrow and raised streets full of enchantment.
Their inhabitants speak a dialect called “pixueto”, which is characterized by the use of Irish and Breton words. Cudillero is the most emblematic locality of all the towns and villages in the council and is considered as one of the most beautiful villages of Spain. |
